Language Arts
Reading and writing are subjects that students generally love or don't love. Personally, I find the world of literature fascinating. Once children learn to read, they can find themselves traveling through time into realms they didn't know existed. Usually, the joy of writing follows the discovery of reading. I think the most popular phrase I have heard is, "I don't know what to write..." Let me help your child learn what it means to read and write for fun, for research, and for specific purposes. My hope is that my love for books and creative writing will transfer to your child as I model it daily. Together we will make a great team!
Through the I-Ready program, I have witnessed student growth like never before. Students are forced to read and reason their thinking. Vocabulary grows as well as phonemic awareness. The link below will connect you to the I-Ready sign-in page.

Read, Read, Read.... 20 minutes of nightly reading 3 to 4 times during the school week will drastically improve your child's vocabulary and fluency.
